Explore Calhoun County

Named for twice Vice President and U.S. Senator John C. Calhoun, Calhoun County lies in the heart of the Florida Panhandle. Within the county borders are a wide variety of natural, historic, and archaeological sites including the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement, Clay Mary Historical Park, M & B Railroad Memorial, and the Old Courthouse. Calhoun County’s diverse past is highlighted in the first bi-lingual historical marker in Florida for Cochranetown, home of the Apalachicola Creek Indians.
