ArchaeoBootcamp: Skills Weekend

DATE: Sep 13th - Sep 14th, 2025
TIME: 9:00 AM EDT

LOCATION:
Flagler College
74 King St. St. Augustine, FL 32084

Archaeology is about more than just digging! Join the Florida Public Archaeology Network and Flagler College’s Deagan Archaeology Lab for hands-on training in field and lab methods that you never knew were so important!

The program is designed to offer students an introduction to basic archaeological field skills in a hands-on setting. It is a great opportunity to learn more about archaeology before committing to a multi-week field school, or to explore techniques and methods that might not be offered in traditional field schools.

September 13-14 – Site Documentation and Mapping

October 4-5 – Noninvasive Survey Methods

November 15-16 – Artifacts Analysis and Lab Skills

ArchaeoBootCamp is free and open to students currently enrolled at a college or university. All sessions will run from 9am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday. While you do not have to attend all three weekends, preference will be given to applicants who are able to do so.

Space is limited to 16 participants. We will notify you by September 3 if you are accepted. Contact Emily Jane at emurray@flagler.edu with questions.
