Kassie Kemp, M.A.

HMS Florida, Database Manager

Kassie Kemp earned her Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology and Anthropology at Baylor University in Texas and her M.A. in Applied Anthropology with a concentration in Cultural Resource Management from the University of South Florida. She also enjoys using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), for which she received a Graduate Certificate. Kassie’s thesis work focused on prehistoric pottery from the Crystal River archaeological site in Citrus County. Her interests are in prehistoric archaeology, ceramic studies, public archaeology, database management, and GIS. Kassie began working at FPAN in 2013, assisting in creating and implementing outreach projects. She now serves as the HMS Florida Database Manager for the HMS Florida Arches Database, an interactive, map-based website where trained scouts and land managers can view Florida’s cultural resources, log monitoring visits to potentially at risk sites, and more.
