General Information

Save the date for this year’s Tidally United Summit on August 12, 2022! Join us for a summit dedicated to exploring the loss of heritage and culture while planning innovative solutions for the future.

This event will be held in The Water School at Florida Gulf Coast University and is organized by the Florida Public Archaeology Network, The Water School at FGCU, and the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Heritage and Environment Resources Office and Climate Resiliency Program.

Our keynote speakers will include Kevin Cunniff (Director, Environmental Resource Management Department at Seminole Tribe of Florida), Jill Horwitz (Climate Resiliency Officer, Heritage and Environment Resources Office, Seminole Tribe of Florida), Tina Osceola (Director, Tribal Historic Preservation Office, Seminole Tribe of Florida), Stacy D. Myers (Sr. Scientist and Liaison, Heritage and Environment Resources Office, Seminole Tribe of Florida), Quenton Cypress (Community Engagement Officer, Heritage and Environment, Resources Office, Seminole Tribe of Florida) and Dave Scheidecker (Historian, Tribal Historic Preservation Office, Seminole Tribe of Florida).

The conference will also feature Dr. Michael Savarese (The Water School at FGCU), Sarah Miller (FPAN – Flagler College), Brooke Hansen (USF), Steven Koski (Sarasota County Historical Resources), Rachael Kangas (FPAN – USF), Dr. Alanna Lecher (Lynn University) and Raychel Ceciro (The New School).

Parking Information

If you are attending in person and are driving to The Water School, you must have a parking pass displayed in your vehicle’s window. Click here to download a printable parking pass for the day. Parking passes will also be available on site for pick-up on the day of the Summit. Parking for the conference will be in Garage 1; a map is available here.

 


 

Field Trip  – Saturday, August 13

We will be visiting The Mound House in Fort Myers Beach at 11:00am ET on Saturday, August 13th. If you are interested in participating, we would appreciate it if you could confirm your participation no later than August 9, 2022. Space is limited for The Mound House tour and we will accept the first 10 people that register. If you are interested, please RSVP if you are certain that you will be attending. We will be able to accept the first 10 people that RSVP.
