Discover how to preserve & protect historic cemeteries!

The Florida Public Archaeology Network is excited to offer a public Cemetery Resource Protection Training workshop in Melbourne, Florida!

Get hands-training at the historic Eau Gallie Cemetery then learn about historic cemetery care, laws & management at the Suntree / Viera Public Library in Melbourne.

This workshop is in partnership with the Abigail Wright Chamberlin Chapter NSDAR and The City of Melbourne but is free and open to the public.

Schedule:

9 am-11 am: Meet at Eau Gallie Cemetery (Avocado and Masterson St,  Melbourne, FL 32901)

11 a.m. – 12 pm: break for lunch on your own

12 pm – 3 pm: Classroom portion at the Suntree / Viera Public Library (902 Jordan Blass Dr., Melbourne, FL 32940)

We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Headstone cleaning can get a little messy!
